Plain‑English summary (not a substitute for the policy): Eyes Up only asks for the permissions needed to record and share videos you choose to capture. Camera, microphone, and location are optional and used only for recording and tagging your videos. We do not run ads, sell your data, or track your location in the background.

What this policy covers
This policy explains what information we collect when you use our mobile apps and websites, how we use it, and the choices you have. It also describes our practices for user‑generated content and public sharing.
Data we collect
1) Information you provide
- Videos, photos, audio, and descriptions you record or upload ("User Content").
- Location you choose to attach to a video (precise or approximate). You can enter a location manually instead.
- Contact information if you email us or submit a report (e.g., support requests). The app does not require an account.
2) Information collected via device permissions (all optional)
- Camera & Microphone: used only while recording; not accessed in the background.
- Photos/Library: to let you select an item to upload and/or save a local copy of recordings you make.
- Location: to tag where a video was recorded. You control whether location is attached and whether it is precise or approximate. We do not collect background location.
3) Minimal technical data
- Basic device and app info (model, OS, app version) when strictly necessary for diagnostics and to operate core features.
How we use data
- To provide the Service (record, upload, transcode, display, and moderate User Content).
- To show location context you choose to attach to your content.
- To maintain security and prevent abuse, fraud, or spam.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our EULA.
- To communicate with you if you contact us.
When content is public
Videos you submit for publication may be visible to the public (including thumbnails, descriptions, dates, and any location tags you opted to include) once approved/published in the app. Please do not upload content you are not comfortable sharing publicly. You can request removal of your content as described below.
Our processors / infrastructure
We use trusted vendors to operate the Service. These vendors process data on our behalf under contracts that require confidentiality and security:
- Cloudflare (network/CDN and video streaming/transcoding).
- Supabase (database and serverless functions).
- Mapbox (maps and geocoding/tiles).
- Proton Mail (website/email delivery).
We may update this list as our stack changes; material changes will be reflected in this policy.
Data retention
- User Content: retained unless you request removal, or as required for moderation/legal reasons.
- Accountless app usage: we do not build persistent profiles. Server does not log activity based on IP address or device ID.
- Support emails: retained as long as needed to address your request and meet legal requirements.
Your choices & rights
- Permissions: you can disable camera, microphone, photos, or location at any time in system settings.
- Location precision: choose precise or approximate, or enter location manually.
- Access/Deletion: request a copy or deletion of your data or User Content by emailing [email protected]. We may ask you to verify ownership of the content.
- Corrections: ask us to correct or update metadata (e.g., a mislabeled location).
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest where supported by our vendors. No system is 100% secure; please use caution when recording and sharing sensitive content.
International transfers & region
Data may be processed in the country where you live and in other countries where our vendors operate. Our primary data region is United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross‑border transfers.
Law enforcement & legal requests
We carefully review legal requests for user data. We require valid legal process, object to overbroad or unlawful demands, and notify affected users when possible. We may preserve data upon receipt of a valid preservation request.
Children
The Service is not intended for children under 13 (or the age of digital consent where you live). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to request deletion.
Do Not Track; cookies; ads
We do not sell your personal information or share it for cross‑context behavioral advertising. We do not use third‑party ad networks in the app. Our website may use strictly necessary cookies; we avoid tracking cookies and analytics. We do not store any logs.
Your privacy rights (GDPR/UK GDPR/CCPA/CPRA)
Depending on where you live, you may have rights of access, deletion, correction, portability, restriction/objection to processing, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing.
